Lexicon ("the app") is a free iOS word-of-the-day app developed by Samuel Oliver. This privacy policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

Information We Collect

Lexicon collects minimal data necessary to operate and improve the app. Specifically:

Usage data: The app uses Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics, such as which sections are viewed, which words are saved, and general app interaction patterns. This data is not linked to your identity and is used solely to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Device identifier: An anonymous device identifier may be collected by our analytics provider (Mixpanel) for the purpose of understanding aggregate usage patterns. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.

Information We Do Not Collect

Lexicon does not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, payment information, location, contacts, photos, health data, or any other personal information. The app does not require an account or login of any kind.

No Advertising

Lexicon contains no ads and never will. We do not share any data with advertising networks or data brokers. We do not use your data for tracking or targeted advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

Mixpanel: We use Mixpanel for anonymous usage analytics. Mixpanel's privacy policy is available at mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Supabase: The app's word content is served via Supabase, a backend database service. No personal user data is stored in Supabase. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.

RevenueCat (Pro tier): If you subscribe to Lexicon Pro, purchases are managed through RevenueCat and Apple's App Store. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained by Mixpanel in accordance with their data retention policies. We do not store any personal data on our own servers.

Children's Privacy

Lexicon is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
